Excellent suggestions! It would be impossible to include every single person or album that deserves this kind of spotlight, but I am putting my hand up for Rebekah. She was brought in at Atlantic under the vast wave of love that Sylvia Rhone showed to Black female artists, and released one album titled "Remember To Breathe." Aside from the title track, which sounds like it could have been written yesterday instead of around 2002 when it was released, there is so much good material on the project. The song "Little Black Girl" is only her voice and a harp, and I use it with every single mentoring group or creative workshop I do with our baby girls. I'm sure the album is out of print now, but if you all can find it, especially anyone with daughters, it is a gem!
